Convert JPG to PNG Without Additional JPG Compression

PNG uses lossless encoding, so the new PNG export does not introduce another round of JPG compression. Conversion cannot recreate detail already removed from the source JPG, however, and it does not automatically make a low-quality image sharper. Unless you enter new dimensions, the converter keeps the original width and height.

Make White Background Transparent

The white-to-transparent option is designed for images with simple white or light backgrounds. It works well for many logos, stamps, and handwritten marks. For complex photo backgrounds, use a dedicated background remover because simple threshold cleanup may not isolate the subject perfectly.

JPG vs PNG: Size, Quality, and Transparency

JPG is usually the smaller choice for photographs. PNG is often better for logos, text, line art, screenshots, signatures, and any image that needs transparent pixels or crisp edges. A converted PNG may be larger than its JPG source because the two formats compress image data differently.

Resize PNG to a Target KB Size

PNG files can become larger than JPG because PNG keeps more detail. If a portal asks for a PNG under a strict limit, turn on target KB resizing. The tool can reduce dimensions to get closer to limits like 100KB, 200KB, or 500KB.
